Chihuahua Rescue Centers
Chihuahua Rescue Centres are organisations who rescue homeless Chis. They do an amazing job to help rehabilitate and re-home dogs for various reasons. Most of these organisations rely on public funding. Help support these abused, abandoned, and neglected animals.
The Chihuahua
The Chihuahua is the smallest breed currently recognised by the kennel club. Generally averaging at 6-9 inches high however some males can grow as tall as 15 inches.

A chihuahuas temperament can significantly share similarities of his or her parents. Its just as important to socialise and train small dogs as it is larger breeds. We have all heard of "small dog syndrome," unfortunately this behaviour can stem from failing to train your dog. A common misconception is that training simply isn't needed in smaller breeds. For instance, if a large breed was to jump up yo, it could cause some damage where as in a small dog it may be considered "cute".

Chihuahuas aren't generally a good choice of pet in families with young or unruly children, when startled, afraid or indeed un-socialised they can become aggressive and lash out.

Like many breeds, Chihuahuas can become completely devoted to just one of its owners, and their protection instinct will kick in.
They can become overly protective and project undesired actions towards other pets and family members. Socialisation is key to overcome this behaviour.

Chihuahuas love to burrow. It is their instinct to sleep or relax in a small and protected space to feel warm and safe. Lots of blankets will be welcomed.
