Boxers make great family pets, they're good with children, protective of their family and home and make great guards.
Boxers need plenty of exercise, except in hot weather due to the risk of heat stroke. They require little grooming, love to play and bounce around, and are very loyal to their family.
Unfortunately Boxers are known for having a short life span due to health problems. When choosing a puppy, make sure to do your research. Meet both parents, check their medical records, and look at whether their temperament is desirable. Socialisation plays a major role in your puppy's temperament but they also inherit traits from their parents.
